Sifu Ely’s martial arts journey began early starting with Aikido at the age of seven. Driven by curiosity and a passion for personal growth, he spent the next eight years exploring various disciplines, including Kempo, Tai Chi, and Muay Thai Kickboxing. Everything changed when, at the age of 15, he walked into a small kung fu school in Iowa City, Iowa. That moment marked the beginning of a lifelong path in Ving Tsun Kung Fu.

Sifu Ely is a dedicated inner circle disciple of Sifu Moy Yat Tung and a recognized member of the MY4 Inner Circle, the core leadership group under Grandmaster Moy Tung, preserving the legacy of the Moy Yat Ving Tsun lineage.

With over two decades of focused training and teaching experience, Sifu Ely now shares his deep knowledge, passion, and commitment to the art of Moy Yat Ving Tsun Kung Fu through his school, Denver Kung Fu. He is known for his clear instruction, hands-on approach, and ability to help students of all levels progress with confidence and clarity.
